Fez
April 2012:  Fez has many requirements but he is worth the expense, time and trouble.  Requirements:  Grain Free diet.  He is allergic to grains.  He is currently on Taste of the Wild and Honest Kitchen Zeal.  He needs supplements in his diet: yeast defense, MSM, Probiotics, Glucosimin Chrondroident, Omega 3's, a banana and a little dab of well drained hamburger (pink slime free).  This grain free also includes treats so you must read labels.    Daily brushing or he mats quickly.  He does not like his arm pits brushed so small scissors need to be used to trim those hairs.  A wading pool.  He is afraid to go swimming!  but he loves to go in a pool where he can lay down and cool off.  A limitless supply of squeaky toys.  He does not chew them up but he will squeak the squeaker to death.  I bought replacement squeakers and take the dead ones out and put live ones in.  He is an inside dog except for his wading pool time.  He wants to be right next to his person, watching you sleep, cook, watch TV or what ever, he is right there at your feet filling up every inch of space.  He loves long daily walks and loves to go for a ride in the back seat.  He takes up the whole seat. 
Sept. 2011:  There is always something behind "Free" dog that the givers don't disclose.  Poor fella has allergies.  Knew from the first week when his hair fell out in clumps that there was a problem.  there is 'shed' and then their is 'hair loss'.  His tail had to be partially shaved due to a hot spot.  Mange tests and thyroid tests were negative. 
6/25/11:  Every since meeting three Newfies while on vacation 2 years ago, I have been in love with them.  So now we have one.  He's huge, dry mouth and purebred.  So far, so good with the others.
