They won't be remembered
No one will ever know
They didn't have the chance
to set your heart aglow. |
 |
 |
They lived their life in
a Shelter
Just one of many more
They weren't considered worthy
Nor that anyone could adore. |
 |
 |
They never even knew their names
For it seemed a waste of time
Just an ID number or a pen
No Abby, Prince or Dime. |
 |
 |
They crossed that
Rainbow Bridge today
With no one there to care
No teary eyes nor gentle touch
Their life was just not fair. |
 |
 |
But I will be remembering
Each night as work is done
For I'm the simple volunteer
who loved each and every one
