Peaches

8/7/11: Peaches is on her way to Texas to a foster home for a doodle rescue.  She is still available for adoption but through them.  email for contact info.

May 2011: Not sure what she is, but she is a cutie.   An experienced guess would be Goldendoodle or Otterhound mix.  Fifty three pounds of joy.  Just look at her and she is ready to come running for attention.

Peaches came with some 'other dog' issues but those have almost completely been resolved.  It has taken effort.  She had major food aggression issues near other dogs.  Never with people.  Now she can eat peacefully and is not in fear of others stealing her food.  I do still keep her at a distance from the others at meal time.  I also have to close her out of the kitchen when cooking or eating.  It's just a growl, but she still has a bit of what must have been previous starvation imbedded in her brain.

She has a great time playing with the other younger dogs.  It is quite a sight seeing them wrestle, running through the house and sliding on tile floors.  Boundless energy!  She also does well and is very submissive with the bigger dogs in the house.   She will however challenge an insecure dog.

She has reasonably good house manners.  Still excited, but beginning to calm.  It is a new experience and she love being with the pack and especially people.  I would safely say she will not potty in the house with a doggie door or due diligence.  If it is on the floor, though, she may think it is hers.   Some minor chewing of a chair leg, which I replaced in her mouth with a Nylabone.

She is happy-go-lucky and just loves all humans and most dogs.  Not sure on cats but I bet she would be fine if they would play with her.  She would do well in a family where she got exercised regularly.  She would be ok in a family that is experienced with a multi dog household, but best as an only dog with an inexperienced person.

She will be 2 on Sept 22, 2011.
